1. What makes your products environmentally friendly?
Part of our mission is to reduce the dependence on dwindling timber resources by offering competitively priced bamboo building materials of the highest quality for residential, commercial and industrial applications. In addition, we subscribe to the tenets of "The Natural Step" which is an international organization that uses a science-based, systems framework to help organizations, individuals and communities take steps towards sustainability. We are also members of "Business for Social Responsibility".

2. What makes bamboo a better alternative than commonly used hardwood flooring?
Unlike hardwood trees requiring minimum of 30-80 years to maturity, bamboo is a grass that grows to maturity in less than 6 years and is renewably harvested over and over from the same plants.

3. Isn't bamboo what pandas eat?
Our bamboo is from the MOSO (Phyllostachus Pubescens) specie which is not a food source or habitat for pandas. There remain about 700 to 1000 Giant Panda in China, they mainly live in western China of Sichuan, Gansu and other provinces and their habitats are usually at elevations of 3,000 to 8,000 feet. But our company is located in the Zhejiang province which is about 2000 miles east to the Giant Panda habitats and well below the cooler elevations that the Giant Panda favor.

4. What type of coating materials do you use on your prefinished products?
Our coating materials are water-based, solvent-free, and non-off-gassing.

5. Does the adhesive contain harmful chemicals?
The adhesive used in the lamination process has virtually no free formaldehyde, which is 6.5 times less than allowed under the stringent European standards, which are stricter than our US standards.
