Bamboo is a very strong and resilient member of the grass family. Bamboo stalks can grow to be very large, reaching as high as 40 feet, and several inches thick. The canes re-grow quickly as well. Due to the inter-connected promotes the extension of bamboo roots and the growth of new canes. Replanting is not needed and the forest continues to flourish. On average, it takes only 5 years for the bamboo to grow to maturity and be used for producing the flooring. AS you can see, the turnover ratio is much better than of any other woods for which it takes a minimum of 30-80 years to maturity. This character differentiates Mao bamboo from other timber types in development and utilization projects, which benefits the ecological balance and preserves forest reserves. |
